Republic and Sports Day Celebration

Republic Day honors the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India. The students of Nirmal Jyothi celebrated the 69th Republic day with great festivity. After the formal flag hoisting and singing of national anthem the students got themselves ready to mark the day with the sports events.

Champions are made when potential is converted into performance. Celebrating health and happiness was the motto for the Annual Sports Meet and P.T Display 2018, at Nirmal Jyothi Technical Institute on the 26th of January 2018. The Sports meet was organized under the guidance of the Principal of the college, Rev. Sr. Dayana Rodrigues. The Programme commenced with the arrival of Rev. Sr. Rosy Malayatty, the director of Nirmal Jyothi Convent. It was followed by the opening prayer and lighting of the sports flame.

The College Vice captain Agnes Carroll led the different houses in a very well coordinated and disciplined march Past followed by the oath taking ceremony by the Sports Captain Shalu Vinayan, who took the oath on behalf of all the students of the College.

Sports across the globe raises mutual understanding and promotes peace in international relations which is the need of the hour. It furthermore helps to overcome prejudice against each other. The students presented a breath taking aerobics and group drill showing their respect to the nation.

The Director Sr. Rosy in her speech stressed on the physical and mental well being, sports and games impart and sense of discipline, fellowship, team-spirit, morals, skills and the art of living provide the right avenues to channelize a student's energy and vitality making their leisure hours worthwhile.

The principal congratulated each and every winner and exhorted everyone to have the true sportsman’s spirit for the healthy living. The vote of thanks was proposed by the College Captain Agnes Carroll which was followed by the Beating of the Retreat.
